What is dental implant?

The dental implant is a screw made of titanium, which substitutes the tooth root. The surgery consists of inserting the implant into the jawbone, surgery whose discomfort is not larger than a tooth extraction. After inserting the bone implant there is an osteointegration phase following a period of 4-6 months. The second step is to attach the healing abutment with a waiting period of up to 3 weeks, followed by the final stage, the prosthetics, supported by implant (s), which consists of unidenture crowns, dental bridges or dentures on implants.
